Six animals, six cosmological roles: Rabbit (fire-thief, season-changer, the quick intelligence that changes status overnight), Raven (at the axis — the Transformer who manages the turning; Fortune is not random but operated by intelligence), Turtle (world-bearer, the stable axis around which everything turns), Deer (West, peace, law, the fortune of reciprocity), Bear (East, medicine, the fortune of healing knowledge), Salmon (the great cyclic return — what goes out comes back transformed), Wolf (threshold guardian, looking directly at the viewer: are you ready for what the wheel brings next?). The Fortune wheel in Na-Dené cosmology is a living organism, not a symbol. Fortune is not blind; the Raven at the center has been turning it with intent.
Initiatory Meaning
A.’.A.’. current: The 21st Path from Chesed to Netzach — the Philosophus (4°=7□) working, confronting the operation of fate within their own will. With Raven at the axis, the initiatory question shifts from “how do I survive the wheel?” to “can I become the Raven at the axis — the intelligence that turns rather than the creature that is turned?”
OTO/EGC current: Jupiter gives what the True Will requires for its expression, not what the ego wants for its comfort. The six animals represent forms of abundance specific to each clan — fortune distributed according to nature and need, not random chance.
Divination Meanings
Upright / Well-Dignified: The wheel is turning in your favor — but note carefully which animal is ascending and which is descending. The Salmon is returning. Something that went out from your life is cycling back transformed. The Raven at the center has been turning the wheel with intent. What has been managed on your behalf while you were watching the rim?
