What Rendered
A forest goddess in full sovereign abundance, seated on a living throne of bent and woven trees whose canopy forms a cathedral arch above her. Her body is partially clothed in living flowers and leaves — the garment not worn but grown. A single brilliant star blazes directly above her crown — Venus as morning star. The Venus/female symbol appears on a medicine wheel shield at her right. At her feet: a brown bear and her cub (Bear Clan), a doe and spotted fawn (Deer Clan), two Little People bringing offerings of corn and berries, and a spring emerging from beneath her throne. Behind her on both sides, mature forest opens to water. The border is Art Nouveau in spirit — flowering vines and botanical forms in copper and gold.
Cosmological Teaching
Cherokee society is matrilineal and matrilocal — women own the houses, the gardens, the clan identity. The Clan Mother’s authority was not advisory but decisive. The spring beneath her throne encodes a specific cosmological truth: springs are sacred thresholds, points where the Under World makes contact with This World. The Empress sits literally over a portal. Her throne is not on top of the world but at its intersection point. The Little People at her feet represent all of Cherokee society in its dependent relationship to the generative feminine.

A.’.A.’. current: The 14th Path connecting Chokmah to Binah — the love that moves between pure will and pure form. The Empress is the beauty that calls the initiate forward. At the grade of Zelator (2°=9□), the teaching: you cannot do the Work from somewhere outside the material world. Sit on the throne. Let the bear come close.
OTO/EGC current: Nuit in her most embodied aspect. The Clan Mother’s authority derives not from biology but from function — the social role of the one who holds the center, tends the fire, maintains the clan memory. Available to any being who takes up that function.
